The North Central Division will once again feature Pro Stock Snowmobiles at selected 2012 events with the top eight riders in the four-race series qualifying to be part of an exhibition at the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Pro Stock Snowmobile racing made its North Central debut in 2005 with a series of events established the following year that qualified racers for an exhibition staged during the Brainerd national event. The four-race 2012 schedule will include the NHRA Spring Spectacle of Speed at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis, April 27-29; the 6th annual B’Laster Cavalcade of Stars presented by Budweiser at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, May 18-20; the Route 66 Burndown at Sundown at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Ill., June 8-10 and the the 25th annual Night of Thunder at National Trail Raceway in Columbus, Ohio, July 14. Similar to Pro Stock Motorcycle, 2000 and newer-model production snowmobiles run heads up on a Pro tree with a maximum 1,000 cc engine and a minimum weight of 650 lbs. including rider and gear. New this year two-cylinder engines will be permitted to utilize electronic fuel injection.
